Dave Koch – Head Coach / Offensive Line
Dave Koch is a veteran coach and teacher. Dave has been involved in football since 1980 as a player and coach. His passion was inspired at Tumwater High School where he was a T-bird lineman on both offense and defense. Dave continued as a starting left tackle at Boise State from 1987-1992. Coach Koch was also an offensive lineman and player/coach for the Idaho Stallions from 1999 to 2001.
His coaching career began at West Junior High and continued at Borah, Meridian and Rocky Mountain High Schools, but his best years were at Centennial High School from 2003-2011. He was a Patriot in 2003 when the team fought to a state championship victory. He coached for 9 seasons at Centennial and was the offensive coordinator from 2005-2011. During this time at CHS the football team was State Semi-finalist twice and State Runner-up once.
In his career he has had the pleasure of seeing many of his student athletes play in college programs. Dave has experience coaching all positions on the offense. Coaching is an outlet for him to develop student athletes into successful young men. He believes that coaching character is as important as the skills.
Coach Koch is married to his wife Melanie, who is an elementary school principal and is a proud Centennial High School alumni. They have three children; Dayne, Miya, and Makenna. You will see Coach Koch’s family at all of the games and they will show their Centennial pride.
